Breaking news…Just after 5 PM CDT it appears that a fire broke out on one of the wheel assemblies leading to the derailment of one of the Blue Line trains in downtown Chicago on the northwest part of the Loop. Scores of people were evacuated and are being treated for smoke inhalation. Metra is honoring CTA farecards to get people home. More updates at CBS 2 Chicago.

It’s odd, ’cause I work near the blue line, and hopped a bus at the Belmont stop… I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, so I’m assuming they didn’t shut down the ENTIRE line?
