Answers, Round the Last

Again, I apologize for the delay. Attacks of Life, traveling, and class projects come first, I’m afraid. That having been said, here’s the third and final installment of answers to questions:

Pogo101Paper or plastic? and why?

Each have their own pros and cons for the environment, so it’s pretty much a wash on that count. I usually go for plastic just because they’re easier to pack and carry, though I’ll get paper bags when I need to take the newspapers out for recycling.

rasslorWhen it’s just the two of you, and you’re cooking that special breakfast, what do you cook? (I had to ask a question about food because you are the most fabulous of cooks.)

{blush} Flatterer 🙂 The sad thing is, when it’s just the two of us it’s pretty rare that I cook up any breakfast. When I do, it’s usually something very simple, like bacon and eggs.

brianblackberryDo you think Queer Eye is promoting a bias by only making over “Straight guys” therefore suggesting hetero men are somehow inferior by default in the five areas of expertise of the show’s main characters simply because of their sexual orientation?

I think Queer Eye is pure entertainment – nothing more, and nothing less. It is a show that is based on the incongruity of wildly stereotypical gay men interacting with a more subdued straight man. Any suggestions of inferiority or superiority is purely in the eye of the viewer.

fuzzytoedcollieIf the freezer went on the fritz and you only had enough dry ice to save one flavor, which gelato would it be?

Wow, now that’s a tough call. Tiramisu is fabulous, and so is caramel. But I’d probably go for the Bounty (chocolate, coconut, hazelnut). It’s by far my favorite flavor.

linnaeusMuch like Scott Bakula in the early ’90s series Quantum Leap, you find yourself ‘leapt’ into my people’s lives for a limited period of time with the goal of effecting some sort of a positive change. You look in the mirror and you see– me. What do you do?

Boy, don’t put me in a corner or anything…

You’ve got a lot going on in your life right now. I think the one thing I would probably do as you is come out to your family, if not as gay at least as not-straight. I say that because for me, it was the best thing I ever did in my life – it freed up lines of communication that were kinked, it took away a lot of the tension in my life at that time, and it genuinely improved my self-esteem, which led to a lot of improvement elsewhere in my life.

Of course, not knowing the exact relationships you have with your family, it’s easy for me to say all of this. And for heaven’s sake, don’t think badly of you because you’re not out to your family; no one has any right to judge someone else on their “outness”, as far as I’m concerned. It is an intensely personal decision, and only your know the true circumstances.

And that wraps up the question-and-answer session. Thanks to everyone who participated – it was a fun exercise and I hope it was amusing for you as readers, too.

No to both paper and plastic!
Both wildmouse and I, have bought a bunch of canvas bags for bringing home groceries in. Generally most stores are giving .05$ per bag brought in. We’ve probably paid for the bags by now, and the nice part is that I don’t have to deal with 1.2 billion plastic bags stuffed under the sink

Linnaeus wakes up, turns on the radio and blearily notes that the traffic reporter said it was Tuesday morning. Tuesday? Must be a mistake. But the morning paper confirms that he has indeed somehow lost a day. How could that have happened? As he gets ready to head out to work, he presses the “Play” button on the answering machine and listens to the first of a series of puzzling and emotional answering machine messages… 😉
Sorry if I put you in a corner there. 🙂 And here I thought you were going to say something about my crappy job…

Nah. Jobs come, jobs go (as we both know so well). If I’m going to screw with your life, let’s make it something deep and long-lasting 😉
