In celebration of a certain someone becoming TiVofied, I present…our Season Pass list (this is the list of shows we record on a regular basis):
Survivor: Marquesas – we can quit anytime we want, honest!
A Cook’s Tour – fascinating and very funny show on the Food Network
ER – this is takaza‘s – I can’t stand the show
Witchblade – we’re recording the entire first season, as well as the new season when it starts in June
The West Wing– because Martin Sheen makes a much better president than W
The Amazing Race 2 – we cheer for the two queens, of course
Good Eats– The Food Network. You don’t watch this? You should! Alton Brown is awesome!
Arthur Cane – wishlist entry for an old show that Takaza wants to record if it’s ever aired
Furries – another wishlist entry – record anything that has “furries” in the description
Courage the Cowardly Dog– mostly Takaza’s, but can be funny. Weird pop-culture references
Hometime– construction with Ken and Barbie!
Early Edition– good show, though Takaza mostly watches this one. Lots of Chicago connections
Enterprise– Ugh. I certainly don’t watch this show…
Scrubs– hands down the funniest show on network TV right now
Great Chefs of Chicago– mmm, cooking porn
Pop-Up Video– Amusing, but usually fast-forwardable too
Futurama– always a hoot
The Simpsons– of course
Mario Eats Italy– another gem from The Food Network
Test Kitchen– a wishlist entry in case the local PBS affiliate ever decides to pick up America’s Test Kitchen, a cooking show done by Cook’s Illustrated
Fruvous– wishlist item to grab anything with Moxy Fruvous
Spirit of the West – ditto for SotW
Bruce Cockburn – ditto
Then there’s the wishlist items that don’t auto-record, but highlight shows:
Border collie – Takaza’s likes ’em 🙂
Cusco– good band
Furry– gotta watch ’em all!
Gay– highlights anything with “gay” in the description, but too often highlights “The Practice” with Marcia Gay Harden
Gray, Spalding– great actor and monologuist
Homosex*– (* is a wildcard) gets what “gay” missed
Macy, William H – we got hooked on him in “Fargo”
Raimi, Sam– Fabulous director!
Husk*– woof!
Wolves – show anything wolf-related
So there you have it. Hey, we’re open to suggestions if you can think of anything we should add, too.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Home Movies, and Sealab 2021, on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim can be hit and miss, but some extremely funny episodes have got me watching them when I get the chance.
