My goodness, it’s been a while since a substantial post, hasn’t it? Unfortunately, work has risen up to eat my life and the last two weeks have been thoroughly insane there. So, what’s been going on?
Let’s see, two weeks ago takaza and I had an excellent dinner with linnaeus, perro, and darkwolph at Sam & Harry’s, an excellent steakhouse in Schaumburg. Great food! The next day we put together an impromptu dinner party with Paul, roho, genet, and mirkowuff which included games, good drinks, and an excellent menu featuring chicken cacciatore, grilled asparagus with a mustard vinaigrette, and cinnamon-tinged bread pudding. So good! Sunday brought the March Midwest FurFest staff meeting, which went very well (and wrapped up in a little less than an hour – woot!).
The week was the week – we generally stayed in and had some nice, quiet evenings. On Friday, siriuswolfstar came up to spend the night, and we celebrated with Brendan, Lydia, and Paul and a fine dinner of Korean burritos. Note to self: chili paste != chili sauce. In spite of being pretty much the spiciest thing I have ever made, it was a tremendous hit and an extremely enjoyable meal. We capped off the evening with some rabbids, which was a lot of fun.
On Sunday the 22nd, I went into work for a few hours, then headed down to Rolling Meadows for the first-even MFF storage locker cleanout. Between myself, Paul, woodychitwn, quasiskunk, luckytheevildog, and aureth, we rearranged, relabeled, and de-junkified the place, easily freeing up about a third of the space in the locker. Of course, ten boxes of old con books came home with me, but those are destined for recycling by the end of the week.
After a long day at work on Monday, Dan and I had an amazing dinner with Woody, Paul, and Lobo at the Capital Grille in Rosemont. Oh my goodness, what a fantastic meal! Unfortunately, it’s also a meal we won’t be able to afford very often, but I really enjoyed it, as did Dan. It’s been a rough week since then, though, with both of our employers beating us senseless and both Dan and I coming home exhausted each day
Fortunately, Friday is approaching and we’re looking forward to a pretty good weekend. A few things planned, but not too much, with some together time planned as well. After the week we’ve had, I think we both deserve a rest. Tonight, though, it’s over to Dan’s mom’s place for dinner.
🙂
You guys rock!
