Hey! You Don’t Want To Miss This!

Did you know that there’s a brand-new furry convention in Michigan next month? Furry Connection North will be in Ann Arbor, MI, from April 11-13, 2008. Registration and room rates are very reasonable, and it should be a whole lot of fun! But here’s the deal: Pre-registration ends tomorrow, March 11, at midnight! Sure, you can register at the door, but if you read my journal chances are you understand when I say that pre-registration is a Good Thing – it helps the convention organizers know how many people will be coming, and allows them to plan accordingly. I expect that there will be 300+ folks at the first FCN; you should be one of them!

Sadly that is the week after Anime Detour, and I’ll be so tired my car would have to be able to do cruise, and drive control to get there. If they move it down a few more weeks next year…..maaaaaybe.

I beg to differ. There are several excellent local microbreweries, and Rene Gobeyn and I will be attending with samples in tow.

Should you get the urge to sample, the hotel is an easy bus ride from Leopolds (which makes its own gin as well as micro-brews) and Grizzly Peaks. GP is very good, but the best of the locals is The Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. Unfortunately it’s about a half-hour drive from the hotel, so you’d need a friendly native guide and a designated driver.

The stuff Rene and I are bringing will be from GP.

Don’t mind Street – he wouldn’t know good beer if he fell in a vat of it and drowned. Damn frat boys 😉

I’ve heard very good things about the microbrews in the AA/Detroit area. I look forward to sampling some of them!
