Precautionary Dog and Cat Food Recall
Menu Foods is recalling a huge number of dog and cat food products that have been tied to the deaths of nine cats and one dog and an unknown number of kidney-related illnesses. The recall applies specifically to “cuts and gravy” style products in pouches and cans. Menu Foods makes pet food products for a wide variety of companies, from Iams and Eukanuba to Publix and Schnucks. For a full list of the products being recalled, see the following links:

We did unwittingly serve up some of these goodies to Bella and Holly when Dad went through a “let’s jazz up the dry food with canned ‘stuff'”. Got the “Laura Lynn” variety at Ingles. T’was a relatively short period of time. If anything bad is going to happen, it hasn’t reared its ugly head as of this writing and we abandoned this practice over six weeks ago. They now get a homemade “jazz up” with rice or barley, chicken or fish and canned french cut green beans. Soon to be only chicken or fish and beans. Other stuff too fattening. M.
