Have I mentioned how glad I am that we moved?

Man, rough weather out there today. It even doubled my commute…to 20 minutes. The last time we had weather like this(and we still lived in the city of Chicago) it took me three hours to get to work.

Suburbs, I <3 you!

By all accounts it should be lighter further north, at least. All the roads were essentially unplowed on the way in this morning, though I was able to make it in under 90 minutes by staying the hell off the Kennedy.

      Re: Two words..
I’m just glad than Dan only has to drive short distances to and from the train stations for his trip home. It’s nasty out there now!

snow plus “Windy City” = headaches
I saw a yr ago how one of the offramps with an incline of about 30٥ became very treacherous. Be careful out there

It would make more sense though if they told you not to come in.
I waited for the closing announcement in vain this morning. All the city schools are closed, usually the library closes too, but nooo. After we all got here, then the boss decides we should close after all. The roads were NOT nice coming in.

We’re a high-demand manufacturing facility; I think it would take a lot more than a measly blizzard (which we really aren’t seeing this far north) to shut this place down.
Traffic was terrible going the opposite direction as I was coming in (the way that most of the commuters go, towards Chicago). I opted to take back roads instead of the major road I usually come (120 is now a major road?). I was surprised that I only saw one car in the ditch. I expect I’ll be seeing more on the way home.
