WHOO HOO!!!
Oh thank god.
Phase one — convict. Phase two — ? Phase three — Profit.
A verdict of “guilty” seemed pretty much inevitable. What is of key interest to me is the punishment they’ll hand down.
New housing arrangements:
There’s this spiffy little federal penitentiary in Pekin that has a nice cozy pair of cells available.
Re: New housing arrangements:
is it a Federal “Pound you in the Ass” Prison?
Re: New housing arrangements:
Generic medium security institution for male prisoners.
I see no reason he shouldn’t go to the same type of institution that a drug dealer, fraud artist or other mine run nonviolent federal offender would get. i.e. No tight lockdown. You’re out in the crowd so you can’t escape the other inmates. 😉
No, if it were up to me, Ryan wouldn’t get a country club prison.
Besides, having him under lock and key only 30 miles south of Springfield is great for reminding our state government critters that there are reasons not to be crooked as a dog’s hind leg.
I’m utterly amazed, though not disappointed certainly. Now how long will it take to get the current administration under the same scrutiny?
I moved from Michigan to Illinois in 1977. Within six months I was convinced that this state has the most corrupt, crooked, useless government of any I have ever witnessed. Incompetent, inefficient, incommunicative… It doesn’t matter which party is in control, it’s always business as usual. And that seems to consist of giving citizens the business and presenting a bill of goods.

No Term Limits for Polititicians – especially once in prison
Republicans have gotten more devious since then – now they pre-pardon themselves and their staff to protect them from prosecution. That’s what the crook – er, governor of Ktucky has done. He’s also made threats to prrosecute any member of any grand jury that investigates him or his staff. But of course, 9/11 has “changed everything”, so such “extra-legal” methods are justified in the name of “national security”.
Re: No Term Limits for Polititicians – especially once in prison
See ‘s comment above. Illinois is equal opportunity as far giving all party affiliations the opportunity to be as corrupt as Boss Hogg.
Yup, I figured the writing was on the wall well over a year ago….
Ryan deserved it.
Remembering the trucker with the bribery-obtained license who caused the accident on I-94 that incinerated that family in a minivan, I hope they lock Ryan away for the rest of his life.
