Last night, Linnaeus and I met siriuswolfstar at The Hopleaf. Here is a shot of their beer list. The picture quality suffers because I was using my cell phone camera in low light, but you get the idea. I want to live there.

I just noticed the icon and couldn’t help be laugh.
The icon is the work of the lovely , who will be running Artists Alley at MFF. Rumor has it she might even be taking commissions there, too! 🙂
proximity to good beer
Yet another convincing argument for residing on the citys north side. I take it the Hopleaf lived up to expectations.
Re: proximity to good beer
The Hopleaf is definitely worth checking out. They’ve got a very respectable general beer list, but the main reason to go is for the Belgian ales. The Belgians can do some weird and impressive stuff with Lambics.
Re: proximity to good beer
Hmmm
Lets try this again…
The one good thing the French have to offer are the Lambics…..
*ducks*…
Looks like a neat place.
There’s a place near me that has 99 beers on tap (and bunches more in bottles.) If I had thought of it, I could’ve taken Linnaeus there when he was here.
I’m not sure if there are any places around here with that many beers on tap, most I’ve generally seen is a couple of dozen or so, like at The Map Room, which I’d recommend next time you’re in town and I’m able to join you. 🙂
Hey, if I find myself with some time off to spare next year, maybe we could hit that place after a blacksmithing class. 🙂
Sounds like a plan! Come on down!
There’s actually a Yard House up in Glenview. Been there once already, their selection seems to hover right around 100 on tap (if you include ciders). They even have a special, $2.50 pints all day Monday. Perhaps a day-after-con outing, if everyone has the day off? 😉
Whoooooooa.
I thought places like that only existed in the afterlife.
And, I just wet myself.
