Standing in the shower, shampoo in your hair, wondering if the alarm really went off before you got out of bed or if you’re actually showering at 3 AM.
It was 5 AM, which is the proper time. Man, I need a clock for the bathroom.

I did that once – that is, showered and changed and was on my way out the door before I realized that it was 3:15 and not 6:15. Thank goodness for the 24-hour doughnut shop at the end of the block.
Heh. Exactly. It’s not like you’re going to go back to sleep – at least, I certainly couldn’t.
Actually…what’s worse is when you’re standing in the shower and you can’t remember if you’ve used shampoo or soap yet.
My father’s a trucker so he spends time in hotels. Well…a while back, he stayed at one. Went to bed at his normal time and fell asleep. He got his wake up call (he doesn’t use an alarm clock or a watch), got showered and headed out the door to find something to eat. Well…he found a resturant and sat down, noting how (as he thought it) there were lots of partiers still out at 6AM and how this place must be the happening place. It was then that he finally realised that he got the wrong wake up call and it was about 3AM.

I hate it when that happens, and I’m not even 20 yet. When that happens, the question in your mind should be: if I didn’t, will anyone notice if I don’t shampoo?
I recommend it. Very reassuring. I got one of those large sized office wall clocks from and office supply place. $9.95 I think, the dial is a foot across with big black numbers and hands. The usual crystal driven movement, one AA battery lasts a year or so.
Hung it over the bathroom door on the inside, as far from the steam sources as possible. It is quite readable, even without the glasses or contacts and with steam in the air.
Been there, done that far too many times, bought a shower-clock.
