Not a particularly strong start, but then again with these kinds of shows things are always a little slow to get going. Part of the problem is that they took all of the action that usually takes place in a 1-hour episode and stretched it into two hours. Theoretically, that bought us a little more time to learn some of the personalities involved – realisitically, it just gave them another place or two to make people run from point to point.
Still, there’s some people to cheer for early on. The gay guys I see going out early – they placed reasonably well, but in the long run I don’t think they have what it takes. The mother and gay son I have high hopes for, though – they’ve got a good spark and they operate well as a team. Of the others, I don’t really know enough about them to form an opinion (I HATE HATE HATE Rob and Amber, but that’s left over from Survivor 🙂 though I thought it was a bummer that they rednecks were the first to go. I kind of liked them.
I’d say stick it out for another episode, it’ll definitely pick up, I think.

Yeah the Gay couple was just too pretentious for my tastes. I root for Rob and Amber because they seem to have that uncanny ability to just pop up near the head of the pack without alot of stress. ‘Oh look, we’re in second place.’
I also like the retired couple and the rednecks.

Those rock! I’m not sure how I feel about the Marvel ones (other than it solidifies my hatred of Marvel). But the Spider Jerusalem one is my favorite. I have a warm spot in my heart reserved for him.
