I just tried Lochjournal after a year and a half of using Semagic. The spell checking of Lochjournal was really crappy; Semagic invokes MS Word and uses Word’s spellchecker, which is fine if a little clunky sometimes. It’s certainly more robust than the one that comes with Lochjournal, so on that basis alone Lochjournal gets the boot.
