Well, I’ve finally gotten off my butt and started the process of revamping my website. This is a much cleaner design than I had before, and is also my first venture into cascading style sheets (CSS).
I still need to re-do my furry page (woefully out of date!) and my Mage page, but the home page, biography page, and coming out page have all been done. I’m open to any comments on style, colors, design, or whatever y’all might have!
I know I’m getting old…
… but grey letters on black is hard to read for anyone.
Re: I know I’m getting old…
Eek. You know, the more I looked at it the more I agreed with you.
I made a revision on those three pages and it should be much more legible (black text on white background). I got rid of the bold effect on mouse hover over links, too, because it was annoying me to have the text move around as you moved your mouse around.
Finally, I did something which is the one great value of CSS (IMHO): I linked all the pages to one style sheet, so if I ever want to change the look of all the pages, I just have to change one file. I should have done that to begin with.
I saw some things in looking over your new layout that I will …ummm I guess borrow is the best word to use, when I redesign my site (Something that will happen soon. Of course, I’ve been saying that since 1996, when I put up the current page over my lunch hour). Thanks for the ideas.

Hey, I stole it from somewhere else, too 🙂 I took this layout and style sheet from glish.com and modified it, teaching myself what each element meant on the fly. My layout is based on their three-column style.
