Well, at least we met and talked about the questions. Not that that did us much good…
$100
The last name of the woman who’s cow allegedly started the great Chicago fire.
$200
TV’s Dr. David Banner.
$300
It’s a monk’s hood or a draped neckline for women that falls in soft folds.
$400
The White House wasn’t yet finished in 1800 when this president moved in.
$500
Trader Vic claimed credit for inventing this rum drink & said it was named by a Tahitian friend.
The questions are:
$100
What is O’Leary?
$200
Who is the Incredible Hulk? (alternately, Who is Bill Bixby?)
$300
What is a cowl neck?
$400
Who is John Adams?
$500
What is a mai tai?
Well, we pretty much sucked today. We got the $100, $200, and $400 questions, didn’t know the $300 question and declined to answer, and blew the $500 (incorrectly answering “Pina colada”) giving us a grand total for the day of $200. This means our total for the week so far is $1700, placing us squarely in last place. We’ll probably be pretty much playing for pride for the rest of the week, oh well.
I knew the $300 and guessed the $500 correctly. Maybe I should be on your team?
Sure, what the heck? The commute might be a bit rough, though 🙂
Sad thing is, I should have known “cowl” – I did medieval costuming for a few years in the SCA. I didn’t own one, but I saw plenty of them in use.
