It’s worthy of note that the song is based on the Speech of Aristophanes in Plato’s Symposium. Heh. Most palatable version of Greek philosophy I’ve ever heard.
I love that song,and that myth.
I feel really conflicted about the idea of a One True Love or Soulmate, though. It’s a great theory, but I’m really, fundamentally bothered by the idea that there’s only one person, or at best a VERY small number, that could make me truly happy. Heh. It’s hard enough for me to find a compatible person anyway. But that’s another rant. ;o)

Both musically and in terms of lyrics, that is my favorite song from the movie, (even if my mind usually renders it “The Satellite of Love”). Thanks for posting the lyrics and filling in some gaps in what I heard.
