(This is an update to a post I made back in 2022 to add some great books I’ve read since then.)
Sometimes a male werewolf and another male werewolf (or another male human) love each other very much. You want some suggestions for m/m werewolf books? Well here you go! I have rated all of these 5/5 (or if a series most of the books 5/5).
In no particular order:
- Wolfsong by T.J. Klune
One of the best. Great characters, hilarious at times, then it will move you to tears. So good. - The Gentle Wolf by Pia Foxhall
Werewolves in modern Perth, Western Australia. Ace/demi representation, terrific handling of very difficult issues. One of my favorites. - Bones series by Kim Fielding
Werewolves in Portland, Oregon! Great story, interesting characters. - The Sumage Solution by G.L. Carriger
Fun alternate-universe San Francisco with werewolves and mages and every other kind of mystical beasties. - Hidden Wolves series by Kaje Harper
Great worldbuilding and suspense in a series that gets better with every book. - Feral Hearts Tales by D. River
Love the worldbuilding and the relationship between the main characters is so good. - Werewolves of Chernobyl by K.A. Merikan and L.A. Witt
Fun, self-aware smut - Second Chance by Barbara Elsborg
Fun setup, very sweet story. Made me cry. - Axton and Leander series by S.P. Wayne
Sweet story that gets surprisingly more dramatic and suspenseful as the series progresses. I sympathize with Axton probably entirely too much. - Cursed: Ride or Die by Eden Winters
What appears to be a silly biker werewolf story is instead a sweet story of love and redemption. Predictable, but in the best ways. - Never Underestimate an Omega by Eden Winters
Delightful subversion of typical werewolf tropes. Includes great characters and spreadsheets! - Bisclavret by K.L. Noone
A tale of love and werewolves in an alternate-history Europe. I loved everything about this novella. - The Wolf’s Mate series by L.C Davis and Joel Abernathy
This hilarious series takes the ABO trope and flips it on its head. Straight-ish meathead bro gets taken to another world full of werewolves and finds himself a much-desired omega. - The Full Moon Problem by Kay Claire
A cozy English countryside werewolf book? Sign me up! Transmasc artist moves to a tiny English town and discovers the cutie he has his eyes on has a secret. Low angst, and just a really lovely read. - When Life Gives You Werewolves by Aeron Dusk
Formerly free, but now available for purchase (and good on them ’cause it’s worth it!), I reviewed the book here. This is a great character-driven exploration of world where werewolves live on the outskirts of modern society.
That’s a good start, anyway. Go forth and howl at the moon!
