More Heroes Geekery

Oh dear. I wasn’t aware of the mini-comics NBC has on their site which offer backstory and off-camera plot developments (like the origin of Wireless, who showed up this week – she’s ex-Mossad!). Each comic is 5-7 pages long, and very well done. NBC seems to be going all-out with this, since there’s also:
* The Heroes wiki
* Hiro’s blog
* Episode commentary (this week featuring producer Greg Beeman and the actors who play Sylar and Suresh, the latter of whom has no accent whatsoever)
(Great quote: “You know, we don’t really talk about this much, but it’s incredibly convenient that all the genetically mutated people are like, really hot.”)
* And, of course, the full episodes can be streamed from their website

Neat stuff!

Caution: Possible spoilers in the comments if you haven’t seen this week’s episode.

    Sylar’s first victim (telekinesis guy) and Dale (superhearing) arne’t hot. And what about Radioactive Man? πŸ™‚ He looks like one of the Geico cavemen.

      See? They weren’t hot, so you see what happened to them πŸ™‚
      And hey – cavemen can be attractive to a certain segment of the population…

    Lol..
    “I tried using my powers but it didn’t work quite the way I expected. Instead of Stop, I casted Haste. Better than nothing, I suppose. Will I ever become a master Red Mage? Will I ever learn Meteor? Well, before anything, will I ever get full control of my powers back? I need my sword.”

      Aw, nuts.
      The website jumps from episode 1 to episode 12.
      I don’t discover this until after getting hooked on episode 1.
      *sigh*
      That’s one amazing show. Wished I’d discovered it earlier.

    I haven’t read any of Hiro’s blogs lately, although I was caught up before the holiday-ish break. The comics I’ve been trying to keep caught up with.
    Reading Hiro’s blog now is absolutely cracking me up. My co-worker actually asked me what was wrong because I was choking on my lunch because I was laughing so hard.
    As we were heading towards Las Vegas, strange folks intercepted us. They were driving a black van and clearly up to no good. They were men in black. I thought they belonged to some government agency and was trying to capture me because of my abilities. They were going to tie me up, probe me, and do lots of tests on me! Maybe even stuff me with fish biscuits. ROTFL!!
    And as a gamer geek, I’m highly amused by all the D&D references. πŸ˜€
    I wonder if Masi is actually doing the blog. It wouldn’t surprise me *at all* to find out he was doing it. πŸ˜€

      Oh, absolutely! They’ve had a slew of great cameos and guest shots. My favorites so far have been the throwaway Star Trek references, to go with the George Takei role as Hiro’s father.
