A little something to tempt the tummy

I mentioned a few days ago that we had picked out a really tasty menu for the Sponsors Brunch at Midwest FurFest, which begins at 11 AM on Saturday of the convention. For those of you who will be enjoying it (and to tempt those of you who are considering buying a sponsorship), I present you with:
The Sponsors Brunch Menu

  • Fresh chilled juices to include: orange, apple, tomato and grapefruit
  • Sliced fresh fruit and melon display
  • Caesar-style salad with parmesan cheese, herbed croutons and our classic Caesar dressing
  • Tri-colored spiral pasta salad tossed with a basil dressing
  • Dill and sour cream potato salad
  • Smoked salmon display with fresh mini bagels, Bermuda onions, tomatoes and capers with cream cheese
  • A uniformed chef will prepare to order omelettes with a choice of diced ham, Swiss or cheddar cheese, green peppers, onions, diced tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach
  • Chef to carve roasted sirloin served with a cabernet mushroom sauce
  • Crisp bacon strips or sausage links
  • French toast served hot off the grill with maple syrup and whipped cream
  • Grilled breast of chicken served with a sun-dried tomato sauce
  • Fresh vegetable medley
  • Minnesota long grain wild rice mélange
  • Penne pasta tossed with fresh garden vegetable and spicy marinara sauce
  • Fresh baked rolls and butter
  • Assorted croissants and muffins, miniature French pastries and assorted tortes, pies and cheesecakes
  • Starbucks freshly brewed gourmet coffee, decaffeinated coffee and an assortment of herbal teas

Remember, sponsorships are only $100. You can upgrade at the door as well for $100 – (however much you paid to pre-register). Naturally, in addition to this tasty fare, sponsors also get a limited-edition Buckles cloisonne pin, a print from each of our three Guests of Honor, a Midwest FurFest 2004 T-shirt, plus a special surprise gift!

And remember, kids: only 20 days to go! Aieeee!

Heh. Sorry, you’re on your own until that Saturday morning!
Hmm. Then again, if you help out with Registration on Thursday night, there are rewards there 😉

    Now here’s a question:
For staff, will MFF be following AC’s example, and not applying ANY DAMNED DISCOUNT to an upgrade? (If you worked AC, Supersponsor Upgrade was full price.)
Sorry, I was a little bitter over that.

Well, I’ll start out by saying that AC is entitled to their policies, and they have succeeded as well as they have in part due to dilligent management of their finances. If it works for them, great.
That having been said: anyone who has a rollover from a prior year (which would be gophers who worked the requisite number of hours or staff) is considered to have a registration worth $30 (the early pre-reg rate). Therefore, people with rollovers can upgrade to sponsor for $100 – $30 = $70.

    Couple of things…
    1. I’ll probably upgrade to a Sponsorship. I really want to, but I shall have to see how the funds lie.
    2. I can be there to work regisrtation Thursday night. I should also know soon when my panels are scheduled on the final schedule. As soon as I do, I’ll send an e-mail your way.

      1. Sounds great!
      2. Rumor has it that the programming schedule will be finalized and available by the beginning of next week. I’ll be sending something out to all Registration staff once it’s up.
