News arrival

So, I heard back on the Abbott job I interviewed for back on Tuesday.

I GOT THE JOB!

I start on Monday. Ohmygod. I am completely shocked, and a whirlwind of emotions.

Thank you to all of our amazing friends who have provided so much support. You are all wonderful!

Thanks to our families who have been supportive and helpful too.

And thanks most of all to takazaDan. Through this long two years he has been my rock, my source of strength, the one that kept me sane. I could not have made it through this time without him, and I am so damn lucky.

This weekend, we CELEBRATE!

The dramatic LJ cut was totally over the top πŸ˜‰
Congrats Duncan! All I can say is that you guys have been long overdue a break *snugs tight*

How hard is it to talk me into anything involving D&T? We’ll be ready whenever you need us. And hell, if you give us enough lead time, we could fly to RDU to help.

You do what you gotta do. But this is an area where we have friends and family, and it’s going to be good to get back. It’ll be better when Dan is here, of course…

And I’ll even help you move, it’s a small sacrifice to get ya guys back here.

    WOOT!!
I wanted to invite you and Dan, and anyone else who cared to join us, down to our house for dinner on Saturday night, but you’ll probably want a real celebration feast and not whatever I can cook up. Although, since you’ll be here in Chicago again, perhaps sometime in the near future you’d like to grace our humble abode with your presences?

As usual, the weekend is a bit of a wash. But sure, we’d definitely like to get down to see your place! It may be a bit before Dan gets up here to live, but soon, hopefully…

Well, that’s one thing that sucks: I start Monday, which means getting down to help Takaza move is out of the question.
Want to see beautiful NC? (and move furniture) πŸ™‚

It’s about time you got off your tail and did some real work, darn hippy…
    Er, I mean, YAY!
(Seriously – good stuff. I know I don’t say much here, but I’ve been following your tribulations none the less.)

Lessee – I start on Monday, in building M-5 on the North Chicago campus. Sadly, that makes getting together for lunch kinda sucky, but oh well…

Hey, we have shuttle busses. πŸ™‚ And it’s not *that* far, anyway. Hell, Roho works across the parking lot from me, and I have *yet* to get together with him for lunch. πŸ˜‰

Thanks, I appreciate it! And yes, it’s been a tough two years, but I’ve always tried to remember that in the grand scheme of things this was a short time and quick to pass. And I’ll definitely be trying to get back to the DC area when I can; if I do, you’ll bet I’ll be saying hi to the crew there!

There’s dancin’ in the streets of Anderson today, too! Perserverance(and a little anger)is a wonderful thing. Seems to run in the family. Now my daily heavenly pleas will be focused on Dan and getting him to Chicago and back with you where he belongs. M.

    YAY!
I know I already congratulated you in person, but I had to leave a mark here.
This is cool. Getting your foot in the door is a great thing, even if this is only a contract, I hope it leads to things that last for a long time.
