Goodness, a week without a substantive post.

Well, as you see in Takaza’s entry, we’ve got quite a bit of work ahead of us. Anyone want to help us move? The unfortunate thing is that there is every chance in the world that he might have to handle the entire job by himself, which worries me to no end. Not that I think he’s incapable of it – far from it! – but that he has to handle all that work by himself while I’m stuck in Chicago. At best, I might be able to fly down for the weekend to help, but all of the pre-move stuff is up to him. My poor wolf!

So, yes, I am in Chicago right now (specifically, at Tivoli Coffee in Lincolnshire, at Buckley and Milwaukee 🙂 I drove up on Sunday, and was able to spend the night at Loriana and Aerofox‘s den on the way up. Thanks, foxies! Had a lovely dinner with them and got to catch up a bit, which is always nice.

I’m staying at Linnaeus‘ place right now. He’s still off cavorting through the U.P. of Michigan, though I think he’s due back either tonight or tomorrow. I admit I’m spending as little time there as possible right now, in an attempt to avoid The World’s Most Annoying Cat. Well, that and I can’t figure out how he’s disabled his net connection, so I’m making use of whatever open wifi access points I can find.

I’m up on this end of the burbs because I had an interview at Abbott Laboratories this morning. I have to say, this is the most promising position I’ve interviewed for so far. I really seemed to hit it off with the hiring manager, I think. The good news is that they want to start the position on Monday, so I’ll know what the decision is very quickly.

No other interviews lined up for this week yet, but we’ll see what I can put together. I’ll be making some phone calls this afternoon, but first I’ll be heading down to Northbrook to have lunch with my favorite sister-who-isn’t-related-to-me. Hmm, and looking at the clock, I should hit the road soon, so off I go!
