It’s just over 1,500 square feet. Dan and I had a place that was around 2,000 square feet when we lived in North Carolina and that was just far, far too much. This is definitely a better fit.

As far as where to look, a good place to start might be the Tribune Fall Festival of Homes, though that is definitely geared towards new housing developments. For property listings, you’ll definitely want to try Realtor.com, though if you’ve got the time and are willing to go off the beaten path a bit, some interesting listings occasionally come up on HousingMaps, a mashup of Google Maps and Craigslist real estate listings. What is the square footage? I didn’t find it in the plans. And where does one go to find out such plans and where they are, just drive around areas and look? In the next year, Spectra and I would like to buy someplace in the far west or far south, though probably not a townhouse. We want some acreage for when I can get my antique farm machinery business going again, and a bit to play farmer with again.
