Ah, I can see how that first post that I linked to can be misleading. It’s not that they have cancelled all public screenings – Cursed is still on for release this coming weekend – it’s that they cancelled all press screenings. This is a typical Hollywood technique to maximize profits on a film by limiting advance information (and keeping critics from spreading the word that a movie is an out-and-out suckfest). Look for the box office gross to drop off precipitously by the second week of release as word gets around that the movie is a complete turkey.
