When I saw this show (which I watch about half of), I thought, “What a idiotic, horrible STUNT.” I was also uncomfortable watching it, listening to the woman contestant in the chair yell, “OW!” repeatedly. And the questions!! They are almost all based on the entertainment-industry. 😛

Or Series 7: The Contenders. Same concept. (Rigel and I watched it a few weeks ago. The disturbing thing is, this was actually pitched as a reality TV show. The network execs replied with “Could you make it more sexy?”)

Though, I do notice that you’re a confessed Survivor addict 😉 *sheepish grin* I just have no interest in Reality TV, though it’s definitely not as bad as Torture TV ;P

I couldn’t believe how stupid that Chamber show sounded…so I didn’t watch it.
It’s odd, we’re sliding towards where Japan was over a decade ago. I used to watch clips of their gameshows years and years ago…they had people crawling through snake pits, walking on hot coals, stuff like that.
Here, we started off by asking questions, and rewarding the most knowledgeable. Then, we moved into humiliating the contestants (started on cable networks, but then out came Weakest Link). So, now we’ve come to torture.
I guess the next step is The Running Man.
Personally, I plan to give the new ‘Extreme Game Shows’ as much of my life as I have to the Survivor shows. None at all 😛
