None of us had heard of Sailor Hagar's, so we tried it out per your recommendation and it was definitely a win. Vancouver has surprisingly few brewpubs like this, so it's nice to have one more on the list! You guys will have to try out Yaletown Brewpub if you ever visit again. This pretty much sums it up:

Yep, "drinking buddies". After the fact, I amused myself with imagining what would have happened if we'd been a little too specific:
"Well, see, we like cartoon characters."
"Like Bugs Bunny? Wait, you're not one of those weird 'furries', are you?"
"Um, maybe..."
"I'm going to have to ask you to step out of the car please."
It just goes downhill from there :-)

I think they said they were drinking buddies, because 'We met on the internet!' would have been a bad idea. ;)

How DID you explain that you knew each other? :)

To get the full ferry experience, you needed to go to Vancouver Island. Really, Victoria gets my vote for your next destination. And I'm not the biased one in this house. ^.^
