I could never understand those safety posters and ads on TV talking about reflective tape and flashlights… Who needs that during the day? (I was enlightened later.)

When we give our candy (which we’re not this year) we do tiers of candy. Good candy for the kids with costumes. Boxes of raisins for the kids without costumes. And 3-packs of crayons for teens without costumes who are way too old to be trick or treating anyway. (If they actually dress up I’ll give them candy.)

No need to guess what the trick-or-treaters will be wearing; I’ve seen ’em try on just about every costume in the store (and leave most of them laying on the floor afterwards, too…!)

I guess my string of not home for halloween remains unbroken O_o!

No costume? No candy. Surly teenager is not a costume.

Our hours are 4PM – 7PM, so at least there’s some hours of semi-darkness there, but normally neither of us would be home that early in the day. “Luckily” someone’s coming by to look at our upstairs furnace Wednesday afternoon, so I’ll be home to throw rocks, I mean, hand out candy to the little beggers.
