Hope you’re feeling better soon! As for the need for something truly horrible to share at the potables tasting, when I was at Sam’s Wine I found myself contemplating reaching for a bottle of Slivovitz for a long moment before sanity prevailed. It’s no Becherovka (much less Burning Panda Rape ™), but it is noteworthy for having a lingering aftertaste that compares favorably with gasoline.

Hah! Becherovka isn’t horrible! 😉 Mbala says its better mixed with tonic water, but I like it straight. And it would definitely… clear your sinuses!
But perhaps it’s an acquired taste. Which means you should drink more! I think we’ll probably be bringing some to MFF. ^.^

By the way, I thought of you and Mbala the other day. We were shopping for booze for a fine potables party at Anthrocon; last year brought a truly horrible Chinese liqueur. Alas, we don’t have any of that this year, so I considered getting something equally horrible…like Becherovka 🙂 They even had it in stock – I was too cheap to buy any, though.

I appreciate the thought, but I have some rather strong opinions about Airborne 🙂

As for those who say that they have taken it for years and never gotten sick, I will point out that they have been drinking water for years and have never been trampled by elephants, but this does not mean that water is an effective elephant repellent 😉

Alas, it’s too late in the cycle to really take anything besides stuff to treat the symptoms and wait it out; ibuprofen, pseudoephedrine and guaifenesin are my poisons of choice right now.
