For the window, what is wrong with that therma roll of plastic that 3M makes. You tape it down then use a blowdryer to shrink it a bit to make it taunt so it holds the heat in.

Are you referring to a TV or a “tv center” – methinks it is the latter. I can’t imagine why you decided to deep-six that lovely thing, it was only twenty something years old. Ah well, it served you well from Clemson ’til you left it at the storage unit and took up some probably needed space for REALLY useful things – like stuff you will ACTUALLY use.
