We figured if we put the food next to pictures of cold things like igloos and icebergs it would keep it just as cold.
;-)
Actually, we got welcome news from the landlords that they decided to install a fridge for us before we moved in (well, Saturday afternoon, anyway). Which is just fine by me; I've seen plenty of places that were bring-your-own-washer-and-dryer, but not so many that were bring-your-own-fridge. I figured that was one asset that we really didn't need if it was at all avoidable.

Yep, it was the #1 pick when we bought ours, too. CR didn't mention that back then either. That was the only issue we had, tho. We compensated for it with the built-in settings and never had any other issues. You may not even have that problem, yourself - we might've just gotten a bad batch. It's still a great tv. :)

Well, that's disquieting. We picked this one because it was the #1 pick by Consumer Reports; they didn't mention that problem, but maybe they didn't test enough units to see it. I can hope that they've made improvements int he enwer model, but regardless we'll keep a close watch out for any red lines (or rather I will - Takaza's red/green colorblind :-) and if anything pops up, this baby's going right back to the store.

That tv is a newer version of the tv we upgraded from. We were very happy with the performance of ours. But watch out for a red line across the top of the screen when it's an all-black picture. We had to return ours twice because of that and even our current one has it, but we were able to minimize it with the screen-tilt feature to push that part of the picture out of the viewing area.
