The Junction? Bah. That’s the name of a restaurant here in DeKalb. Yeah, I’m definitely a newbie when it comes to Chicago traffic. Heck, people like me from outside the city call anything east of Elgin “Chicago”. Surburb names are just divisions of the overall giant monster that is Chicago. And that’s why the MFF shirts say “Chicago” and not “Schaumburg” on them, I guess.
I’ve always wondered if there was an I-89 between I-90 up by Rockford and I-88 here by DeKalb. It would only make sense, but I’m just kidding…

Well, the Ryan Expressway is the stretch of I-90/94 that runs from downtown Chicago south to the junction with I-57, so it's not a factor at all when dealing with Rockford or the Northwest Suburbs (including Schaumburg and MFF). I should have been more specific for those unfamiliar with Chicago traffic parlance (and I haven't even mentioned The Circle Interchange, Hubbard's Cave, or The Junction :-).

I-90 = wooonderful. How do you suggest I come in from Rockford if I-90 is unavailable? On the bright side, I-90 traffic sucks as soon as I hit Elgin. No big loss there.
