I’m partial to their cheese danishes. I was hoping Wegman’s here in NoVa would have better coffee than they do. Their Seattle Dark tastes like Starbuck’s burned-lima-bean roast. (If you roast it dark enough, lima beans taste the same as coffee beans.) Whole Foods is the best grocery store for coffee in the area, so far as I’ve seen.

I’d wager that Panera translates from some old dead language as an idiom meaning “all show and no dough”.

Well, at home I usually get whole-bean French Roast from Intelligentsia and grind it fresh every morning to go in the whiz-bang coffee apparatus. Top it off with heavy cream and a little sugar…mmmm…

The coffee is prepackaged in foil packs with the amount you are supposed to use for one pot. Tradition is you use two of those. It’s not Intelligentsia, but I’ve had far worse.
