Ok, so you don’t really know me at all…but I’m insane. : )
I happened to come by an article on the net talking about furries and I thought “I bet they’re bashing, I’ll read for fun…” and I came across your name and a quote from you as well. Cool enough, but I noticed it said something about a shamanic background from a catholic one, and I decided I’d be a stalker and I put your name into google. Well, I hadn’t heard of Andersonville Fest (technically Midsommarfest) until you mentioned it. It looks like a blast! Unfortunately we already have plans for all day Saturday and Sunday morning, but we may try to swing by on Sunday afternoon to check it out. (Side note: There’s companies that do festivals for hire? Daaaamn. That looks like fun! And hey, I seem to have experience running events…)
And as for The Lion King: it’s not quite the seminal work for me that it is for a lot in furry fandom, but it’s been a nice diversion and I figure at worst I can always admire the innovative costuming.

But the whole “glowing red eyes” thing is a bit off-putting. I don’t know why, but it really creeps me out.
There’s a burger place in Lockport where the fries are still deep-fried in actual lard. Well worth the drive, but it wouldn’t qualify as the perfect burger-and-fries joint in Chicago. For that, I have to go with Byron’s. I haven’t been to all four locations, but I do know the Irving Park location rocks my world.
Speaking of festivals, are you guys attending Andersonville Fest?
Shaun really wanted to see The Lion King, but I wasn’t overly thrilled by the idea. After the whole Mamma Mia debacle, he no longer forces me to see shows I don’t have any interest in.
