We’re leaving Wednesday after work (aiming to get out of here around 5:30pm or so) and get as far as we can that night, and drive the rest of it Thursday. *IF* the weather is good, we should be there Thursday afternoon and can help out with registration, setting up stuff, whatever.
If the weather is crappy, though, we might not get in until late Thursday or (gasp) Friday morningish. (And if there are road closures, all bets are off.) But whenever we get in, we’re willing to help anywhere we’re needed for the first day of the con.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for good weather. 🙂

Unfortunately, I have no plans to be in North Carolina any time soon. I will check the Board of Elections website and see if there are any other alternatives, though.

I think you should be able to get a ballot to fax in. (Heck, if a american friend of mine in England can get one, you should be able to also.) But, by all means, don’t let this go. North Carolina isn’t quite as locked up as many people think. Any chance you’ll be in town this weekend? If so, early voting will be open on both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend.
Whatever you do, don’t just blindly give up your vote.

Woohoo! You’ll be glad you did. We just confirmed the menu for the Sponsor’s Brunch (starting at 11 AM on Saturday), and it looks mighty tasty this year. French toast and eggs and bacon, plus a roast beef carving station and an omelet station as well. I’ll probably postthe full menu later.
