We appreciate the offer for the wedge, but I think we’ll be OK with the improvised solution we have for the immediate future. I’ll talk to you about maybe sending it up by slower methods on Sunday morning. I know we really don’t want to pay $40 for a damn piece of foam just because it’s medical-related.
And y’all never, ever have to apologize for caring, silly. I was more amused than anything else. Sorry if that didn’t come across clearly in what I wrote.

The wedge that we offered came from one of those places that you mentioned….actually, the “Back Store” in Promenade Plaza (?) on Glenwood in Raleigh. It was NOT cheap….I keep trying to pawn off the $35.00 “no snore” pillow bought at the same time but neither Tom or Dan thought it to be of use…..oh well, what do us old people know. More than one can imagine! By the boo, I do remember coming out of that store with a receipt that said $100.00+ and thanking the gods that we had insurance and that the dr. had more than suggested a need for such an item. “Mr. Cigna” footed the bill for that one. So, guys, should I Fed Ex it to you come Monday morning? Just say the word and it is done.

After my septoplasty (1996), I didn’t faint during the removal of the wadding, but I fainted 2 days later when a crust/scab in there that had been acting as a “blood dam” just BURST. I wasn’t actually “bleeding,” because the blood that was then flowing had been bled (into the “lake”) many hours earlier, but I DIDN’T KNOW THAT AT THE TIME, and lost it. “It” being consciousness. I thought I was dying and wouldn’t wake up again.
Too much info anyone??

Heh, good description. 🙂 For me, the disturbing part was when the doctor had me breathe through my nose after taking it out, and when my nose was still blocked, said something like “Well, it’s normal to still be kind of congested after… hey, wait a minute, there’s still more gauze in there!”
