Well, maybe that’s it, but I tend to think it’s not in the sense of hating and more in the sense of fear of having an arousal reaction. (Which wouldn’t necessarily show such a man to be of any particular orientation … but then a lot of guys aren’t secure.) Hmp.

You raise an interesting point. Is it something that can be chalked up to entrenched societal homophobia? That seems a bit facile, though. Perhaps a fear of objectification? A fear of comparing against another man and not measuring up? Or maybe just societal brainwashing that boobies are nifty and dangly bits are all icky?
I dunno. I lean toward the homophobia explanation, I suppose. Occam’s Razor and all that.

I was joking in the first bit and serious in the second. *crimson* Aimee gets to put up with a preening primadonno. (“I’ll need an extra seat for my EGO.”)
Mark humorously touches on what is actually a rather serious point. Why is male nudity so taboo? Are straight guys afraid they’re gonna get a boner or something?? Now, I guess *I* don’t miss it the way that I missed T&A in “Enough” (would you believe she stays clothed throughout the entire film? the nerve!), but the subject arises *koff* in the modeling context, too. Usually to my detriment, e.g., “The [mostly male] people who attend my workshop only want to paint female models, sorry.”

Well hey, they’ve made it easy: all you have to do is go here and subscribe to Morford’s Morning Fix. It’s sent out Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and has his column as well as his very amusing commentaries on the news.

Your wish is granted…
I’ve seen two theatre-release movies this year with FFMN.
The first one is Yu Tu Mama Tambien, which is currently in theatres. There’s enough, um, chemistry between the two male leads that gaydar will ping intermittently throughout the movie,
which is probably why Mumford devoted so much of his column to it.
The other one is _Atanarjuat_ (a.k.a. The Fast Runner), which has close to a minute of FFMN. It’s out now in Canada, and should be in the ‘States starting next week.
Both of these movies are “foreign films”…but if you can handle brief scenes of naked men, naked women, and realistic sex, then subtitles shouldn’t scare you. 😎
